I know that no one likes rules. Well, except me. Because they help me keep things in nice order. Haha. Anyway, I do ask that you abide by these. They make me and Straw's lives so much easier. =)
Basics
- Obviously, respect staff. Either Straw or I has recruited everyone on the staff list, and we respect their decisions. You should too.
- Obviously, respect all the other members. Don't fight. We're not in kindergarten, anymore.
- If you do have a problem with another member, try to work it out with them first. I won't help unless you've at least made an effort. If you can't get the problem solved, then you can bring it to either Straw or I, and we'll do our best to help you sort it out.
- We will allow swearing for the time being, but please, keep it to a bare minimum. It is a privilege, and we will take it away if it is abused. So don't abuse it.
Joining
- You have two (2) days after creating an account to start a bio. If you don't start it within two days, the account will be deleted.
- You have a week to complete the bio. I don't like having unfinished bios around. It just makes things look sort of messy.
- You have one week after completing your bio to get a post of some sort up. If it doesn't go up, account and bio will be deleted.
- After that, if you don't post for a month (without posting in the absent board) you'll be deleted.
- When you make your character, please use the form provided. There's a reason that all those elements have been included.
- You're allowed to have as many characters as you can keep active. You can either keep them on separate accounts or on one account, whichever you prefer.
- We do ask that your account name be your character's name. If you have multiple characters on an account, just make the name your main character.
- You're free to post once your bio is up, but if we ask you to change something on the bio, we ask that you change it immediately, but please, don't post until after it's finished.
- Keep in mind that live-in staff has to be 18, unless they're emancipated. High schoolers can get jobs as grooms and stable hands and what not, but they can't live at the barn.
- No Mary-Janes. No one's perfect. We all have some flaws. You'll be asked to change the bio if your character is too perfect.
- Right now, I'm allowing people to join straight into jockey position. Once we get more members, though, you'll have to start out as an exercise rider and work your way up.
Role Playing
- This is a real-life roleplay, so sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll are all allowed. Keep that in mind when joining.
- We do ask that if you're going to have a particularly graphic or violent thread that you say so in the title with a [G] or [R] somewhere, to warn fellow members.
- It would be amazing if all posts could be at least 250 words. This is bare minimum. 300 is amazing, but I know we all have our off days. If you can't post at least 250 words, please don't join.
- You're allowed to have as many threads going at a time as you can keep up with.
Time and Age
- I will keep track of time in the little season section on the side tables.
- Characters do not have to age according to the season, however, you cannot go faster than the seasons. Currently I'm figuring each month will be a week, and each season four weeks, or a month. So each game year is 4 real life months.
- If your human gets pregnant, she must carry the baby for at least 8 game months, or 8 real life weeks. Unless the baby is born premature, but talk to a staffer before you do that, please.
- Mares must carry their foals for basically a game year, so whichever season they're bred is the season in which the foal will be born.
- Colts can go into light training when they are a year old. That means in January, in game time, of course, when all Thoroughbreds officially change age in real life. They can begin racing at two. Stallions can breed at three, mares at four.
Canon Characters
- We do have some canon characters, namely the names of the stable owners and the trainers and stuff.
- We are extremely picky about who plays our canons, because they play such an important role in the game.
- We ask that you be an experienced role player to take on a canon character.
- Sometimes even if you're a superb role player, we don't feel that you're right for the character, so sometimes it has nothing to do with your abilities. Please don't be offended if you're denied a canon character.
Racing COMING SOON
Jobs
- You don't just start out automatically with a job.
- Talk to the stable owners if your interested in working for them.
- There's also jobs around town.
- Talk to an admin if a canon space hasn't been filled yet and there aren't any owners to talk to.
