Finally. For a while Benny had thought he'd never be able to tire the young mare out. He tried nudging her into a jog and she, for once, was reluctant of the quicker pace. Letting her walk sedately for the time being, the Aussie looked around, resting his hand on the saddle horn in front of his hips. He should be getting close to the lake now, if that dog walker half an hour back had it right. They were heading gradually down hill, a winding gritty path through spring forests. Buds were quickly forming and things were quickly turning green again.
The palomino was stepping nicely, her neck keeping a slight arch. Her training was going brilliantly, probably because learning was one of the only things that seemed to tire the mare out. She looked maybe a tad small for the young man, but they were perfectly balanced together and she clearly had no difficulty carrying his weight. Oh, good.
The path curved and the trees fell away to reveal a short strip of sandy beach at the edge of the small lake. There were a couple benches, and Ben saw the path that must have lead to the nearby parking lot. Nobody seemed to be about though. Well, it was only about noon, and the water still had a strong nip to it, it was only May. Dismounting from Jinx, Ben loosened her cinch, hauling the comfortable western saddle off her back and propping it against a rock. Her pad he placed fleece-side up on the same rock to air out in the sun. The mare was rather sweaty after the hour and a half ride, spent trotting and loping wherever possible.
He pulled the mare's bridle off, leaving her with just a worn nylon halter on her delicate face. Ben watched as she waded into the cool lake up to her knees, taking several deep gulps before lifting her head and glancing back at him, water dripping loudly out of her mouth as she she licked her velvety lips. Wading back to the sandy shore, she began to snuffle about at the edge of the trees, cropping grass where she found it. Ben trusted her 100%. He'd raised the mare from a teeny foal, trained her himself to do a multitude of tricks, and the first that he'd ever taught was to come on command, like a dog would. Still, he wasn't sure if he'd get in trouble for having a horse wandering around the place, not that it looked like there was anyone about. To be safe, the dark haired boy dug into one of his saddle bags, digging out a long old leadrope, clipping it to her halter and keeping hold of the knotted end as she investigated the immediate surroundings.
Sitting himself down where the sand met the more fertile soil of the forest, Ben leaned his back against a thick beech tree, closing his eyes for a moment. It had been a good ride out here, and it looked like it'd be great in summer. Opening his blue-green eyes again, the young man noted that his horse seemed to have settled herself down, cropping at a patch of grass a few feet away. He settled back against the tree, absently watching a duck and her fuzzy, yellow and grey ducklings bobbing around for weeds near the shore.

The girl sat tall in her saddle, clucking softly to the large black horse she was riding. She certainly looked a bit out of place - she was a tiny thing, slender and on the short side, while her stallion stood at nearly seventeen hands. The horse made her look smaller, thats for sure. But the two were clearly a team, the horse was listening to the girl even though he was fresh and green. Amy kept her hands soft on the reins, though they were a bit tighter than usual. Her Thoroughbred, Spartan, was not as relaxed as he should be and his tight muscles were rolling. Amy knew that if her mind wandered for one second, the stallion was likely to take off. He wasn't normally one to bolt, but the past few days had been trying, from moving and a break from training, plus the fact they were riding in territory that was unfamilar to both the rider and the horse.
The horse shied at a rustling leaf, surprising Amy a bit, but she recovered quickly, turning the horse into a circle. She bent the Thoroughbred around her leg, walking then trotting in a few circles. Finally she felt what she was waiting for. Spartan's mouth began to soften, his muscles relaxed and he arched his neck, accepting the bit. The girl smiled, pleased that the stallion wasn't fighting her anymore. "Good boy," she murmured softly, rubbing the horse's satin black neck. "It's my fault - I shouldn't have skipped so many riding days." She sighed, but as usual Spartan didn't seem to be holding a grudge. He snorted, obviously eager to start moving forward again and to stop with all these circles. Smiling again, Amy nudgled his side with her heel softly and signaled for the trot.
Spartan's trot started out fast and Amy instantly corrected his bouncy gait, slowing into to a much more fluid pace. She didn't bother to post, choosing instead to sit the Thoroughbred's graceful movement. Reaching up, Amy reached up to pull her hat a bit further on her head - she had dressed very casually today, in her jeans and green shirt with a baseball cap covering her shoulder length brown hair (she knew she really should be wearing a helmet, but all well). Even dressed as plainly as she was, the petite girl was still very pretty - she wasn't glamarous or anything, but still. She wasn't one to dress all fancy anyway - Amy was pretty simple with her clothing choices, choosing comfort over fashion.
It wasn't long before the pair came upon a lake - it was really very pretty. Gazing out at the clear water, Amy now had an idea were she was; she remembered seeing this on a map somewhere. So busy looking at the lake, Amy almost didn't notice the palomino horse and the boy. Actually it was Spartan who spotted them first, slowing to a walk when they were close-by and snorting softly, ears pricked in interest. Looking forward again, Amy finally noticed the other person. She halted the Thoroughbred, unsure of what do to do - should she say hello or just keep going. She wasn't usually the best at meeting new people, but then she really should try to get to know someone. "Um, hi." Her voice was soft as she spoke and she paused before going on. "My name is Amy. Amy Hall. Thats a nice mare you got." She hesitated, wondering if he would be friendly and reply or just wave her off.
ooc: that was horrible, sorry.

It was Jinxy, of course, who heard (or maybe smelled? Benny couldn't be sure) the pair coming first. Her little face lifted and her ears pricked, her jaw stopped chewing, several blades of grass dangling from her lips. Ben followed her gaze, trying to figure out what she was concentrating on, but it wasn't for another minute or so that the big black horse and its rider appeared further down the shore. Jinx, ever curious, let out a high nicker to say hello, and Ben made sure he had a good hold on her rope in case she decided to go gallavanting off to make new friends.
As the girl atop the horse noticed him, she headed the horse, which looked a lot like a racing thoroughbred, towards him and Jinx. First, he'd wondered if the horse was big and making her look tiny, or if she was tiny and made the horse look big... As they drew closer it became evident that both were true. He pushed his dark hair, which he'd been to lazy to gel up this morning, out of his blue-green eyes, watching as they drew closer. Shielding his view from the sun with one hand, he looked up at them. One sleeve of the grey t-shirt he wore, not tight, but fitting enough to show that he clearly had a damn nice body, fell back from his right arm, showing the tribal band tattooed around his bicep.
"Um, hi." Aw. Soft and shy. From what he could she, she was fairly pretty, but so meek sounding. Maybe she was just like that with strangers. Rolling his shoulders back and letting his hand drop, which forced him to tilt his head so he was in the horse's shadow to keep from being blinded by the midmorning sun, he nodded. "Hey." Squinting, he studied the slight girl again. "I'm Ben King. This is Jinx" He offered, getting slowly to his feet, and shortening the lead running between him and the little mare, who was trying to edge her way closer to the stallion. She looked positively ridiculous, neck stretched to its furthest possible extended, nostrils grotesquely flaring as large as they would go, eyes looking somewhat bulgy. "Thats a nice mare you got." Ha, so the girl had some humour to her.
"Don't say that, it'll go right to her head." He grinned, tugging Jinx's lead rope to get her to stand properly and behave. "Stallion?" The aussie drawled, of her horse. The big thing looked pretty flightly, like he needed a good half hour of running flat out to calm him down. "Looks like thoroughbred blood." He commented again, looking the big horse over. As long as they minded their manners around Jinx, Ben had no problem with stallions, he just favoured geldings. They were far more reliable, he'd found. Well, since this girl had stopped, she was probably the fairly friendly sort, and since Ben just loved to chat up anybody who would listen, this seemed like a good conversation for this simply lovely spring morning.
"Doesn't look a bit tired, where'd you ride in from?" The young man asked, slipping Jinx's bridle back on her somewhat mulish head. "It took a good hour and a half of loping to tire this brat out." He joked again. "Thought I'd get lost though, it's my first time riding out here, but the trails are pretty straight-forward, huh?"

Amy was spared the embarrassment of either being ignored or receiving an annoyed reply. The boy, introducing himself as Ben King, didn't seemed friendly and not at all mad that she had interrupted his morning. Even so, her smile was still a bit hesitant and she was wondering if she shouldn't have just kept going - really, her brother was much better at talking to people than she was. When she tried to make conversation with strangers, awkward silences weren't uncommon. When he made the comment about the palomino, she was named Jinx he said, her blue-green eyes slid back to the horse, who was trying to get closer to Spartan. The stallion had his ears pointed in the mare's direction, and though he usually had pretty good manners, Amy kept a tight rein on him - after all, he was pretty fresh today from the break in riding.
She turned her attention back to Ben as he continued to talk, commenting now on her own horse. "Yeah. This is Spartan," Amy said in her soft voice, letting him know he got both observations right. After hearing his words, she wondered if he had a problem with stallions - some people thought they were too tempermental and would rather have them gelded. That wasn't much like Spartan at all though; sure he could be a bit spirited at times, but he had never acted up to be mean (he was actually quite the gentleman in the stable block). He was just young and green, and Amy had always thought he was pretty gentle for a stallion. As if to be a good example of her thoughts, Spartan leaned the weight off of his one hind leg, looking quite relaxed for the time being.
Ben seemed like the kind of person who liked to chat, so Amy felt a bit more reassured that she would encounter many of those loathed awkward pauses. She gently ran her fingers through Spartan's black mane, looking at Ben while he talked. She smiled as he joked about how long it took to tire out his mare, though she was sure there was truth to his words. Amy knew what that was like - being a Thoroughbred, Spartan was quite energetic sometimes; lets just say he never hesitated when she asked him to gallop. Catching Ben's words at the end, she noticed that he didn't know the area that well either - maybe he had just moved in as well? "I didn't ride him that far. I actually just moved here so we've been exploring - we've skipped to many exercises." As she made the comment she patted Spartan's shoulder, wondering what she should say next. Pausing, she looked back at Ben, hoping he would jump in with another conversational topic.

It was kinda useful. Benny generally found himself at ease with any conversation. If the other person was on the quieter side, he'd fill the gaps, no problem. Get him with another talker that he got on well with, and he could spend hours just joking around and talking. He did tend to get short-spoken and quieter, blunter, with those whose company he didn't particularly enjoy. Fortunately for this cutie-pie though, she didn't seem to be the kind of sort that would get him in a grumpy mood.
"He's a nice looking horse." Ben conceded, complementing the stallion. It wasn't that he disliked stallions, but he did know that far too many of them were owned by people who simply couldn't control them. Call him a protective daddy, but he didn't want Jinx getting knocked up by any out of control, hormone-driven boys. Actually, don't call him a sweet, caring daddy. He just didn't want to have to pay vet bills and feed for the foal when it came along, not to mention it would knock Jinx out of competition for a good long while. He'd spent six years building her fitness up and he wasn't ready to retire her as a broodmare.
She gave him a little more about herself, that she'd just gotten here. "Hah, you're quicker at looking around than me then. I got here a couple months ago." Ben gave a shrug. He'd had a lot to do though, finding a place for him, his horse, and of course, work. And he'd been helping the owner of the pasture where he kept Jinx to let him build a nice big ring where he could train Jinx. They'd gotten all the materials and were due to start building tomorrow. The fence ought to be up in a couple days, then they'd have to get it all lined and have the sand delivered.
"I live downtown though, and Jinx is about a ten minute walk from me. We took the long way here, so it took a while." The long way really was the long way. Instead of a straight line (which would probably take forty minutes to an hour depending on the pace) it looped wayyy to the west before it turned back and ended at the lake. "Where do you have him boarded anyways?" Benny had looked at a couple boarding stables in the area, but none of them had suited him, or had been too expensive, so he'd found a landowner in town who had room to spare in his pasture. Its only occupants were two elderly donkeys, who Jinx seemed to find as an excellent source of entertainment. Plus, it was right next to the landowner's house, so if anything happened to Jinx, she'd have help right next door.
"Anyways, we decided to take a break from training for the morning. She likes swimming, so I figured she'd like it here, but looks like the water's a little chilly for her Majesty." Ben grinned, slinging one bare, muscled arm over the mare's neck. "I'm training her to rein and do barrels. Her mom was great at it, and she really loves it too so I'm hoping she'll do well."He nodded again towards Spartan. "He has the build of a racer. Has he ever run in the money?"

Thankfully, Ben didn't seem to mind filling her pause. Amy smiled at his compliment for her horse, and the large black snorted, as if he knew they were talking about him. "Thanks." She probably should have added more, formed an actual sentence, but she wasn't sure what else to say. However, she did notice that Ben had said almost the same exact thing as she did about his horse. She was pretty sure he meant the compliment though. Since Spartan was standing quite nicely, and it looked as though she wouldn't be going anywhere for a little while, Amy dropped her feet from the stirrups to let her legs hang. The horse raised his head when the loose irons hit his sides, but it was clear the movement was more out of annoyance than being startled.
She listened politely as Ben explained that he had already been here a few months, so he was probably a lot more familiar with the town than she was. Nodding as he explained where he lived in comparison to where he kept his horse, Amy pushed a strand of her brown hair from her eyes, tucking it back behind her ear. When the boy asked where she kept Spartan, she shrugged slightly. "My brother and I are staying in hotel rooms for now, so we're just keeping our horses at a small riding stable - nothing too impressive." The stable really wasn't - the building was older and it was more of a family barn with a few other boarders. She and Parker, her brother, weren't planning on keeping their horses there for long - they hoped to find a better stable soon.
"I've been trying to find a job - maybe at one of the racing stables in town, where I could board him" she shrugged as she said this in a kind of "we'll see" way. Having been here such a short time, she really hadn't had much of a chance to look for job yet. That was something she really should do - her brother at least had been glancing through the newspaper job ads. Since she had helped exercising Thoroughbreds back at her parent's stable, Amy had been hoping for a similar job. Though at the moment, she almost didn't care as long as she found a money-paying job and somewhere better to board Spartan.
Amy listened as Ben continued talking, going on to explain his horse's training. She smiled at his joke about the water, and she nodded interestingly as he mentioned the reining and barrels. Even though she grew up on a racing farm, Amy knew the basics of western riding - not that she did much with Spartan anyway - but she didn't know much about reining. It almost seemed interesting, though at the same time not something Amy could actually see herself doing. She was surprised as Ben moved from Jinx to Spartan, asking about his track history. Did he know much about racing? Amy didn't ask, but she did answer his question with a shake of her head. "Nope. He was bred on my parent's racing farm - his parents were both racers, but I've been training Spartan jumping and dressage." Feeling curious enough to ask, Amy finally shot out her own question. "So what about reining? Have you been doing that a while?"

Ben was thinking. All the stables he'd checked out in the vicinity really weren't what he was looking for. Besides, Jinx seemed to get along great with the donkeys, and the landowner was awfully generous. At her next words, he lifted one shoulder in a partial shrug, calmly giving Jinx's withers an affectionate scratch. "Yeah, I think at least one of the racing barns does that, but I dunno about all of them." He hadn't asked if he'd be able to board Jinx at Glennwood. Hadn't wanted to get in the way, honestly.
Benny nodded, straightening the flaxen forelock between the mare's eyes. She stood quietly while he did the cinch up again. "Yeah? Is he still a little antsy, with all that racing blood?" It'd be interesting to see what a purebred racer would be like if raised away from the track environment. He knew most racers got that high strung, sort of spazzy temperament from being in a super-charged track environment.
When she asked him about reining, he grinned. "I've always been into it. Started training Jinx a year and a bit ago. She's catching on pretty quick. We've been in some little minor shows, all mostly young horses or kids learning." Affectionately, he gave the palomino a solid pat on the neck. "She holds her own, and she's still learning more, balancing herself better. She really likes barrels too, but we haven't done much of that yet."
Lightly, he turned and sprang on to the horse's back, settling himself. Jinx pulled at the reins, chiding him, and he gave her another pat. "I'm hoping to get her competing more seriously this summer." Nodding, he nudged her forward and away from Spartan and Amy, glancing over his shoulders. "Wanna go around the lake really quick?"

Nodding slowly, Amy listened as Ben made a comment on one of the racing barns. Well, there was time enough to worry about that later. She had really only been here a few days - though finding a job was at the top of her list, the need for one wasn't urgent. Besides, she wanted a few days to relax after the craziness of the move - which was exactly why Amy had tacked Spartan up for this ride. Alright, that and because she had been a horrible owner and kept him couped up far too long. But, again, Amy noticed that Spartan wasn't holding a grudge. She remembered earlier, when she had entered the stall and wrapped her arms around his neck, the black giant had snorted than nosed her hair, looking genuinely pleased to see her. Really, that had just about made her day.
Now, the Thoroughbred was standing pretty quietly, looking and acting very much like a gentleman and less like the spazz who she had taken out this morning. Looking up again at the sound of Ben's voice, Amy took just a second to think before replying. "Actually, Spartan is usually pretty good. He'll sometimes act a bit silly at the beginning of a workout, or he is more antsy if we've missed some workouts." She leaned forward to rub his neck, stretching right under his silky black mane. "He was never trained to run full out, which helps, but there are times where he doesn't want to stop." Amy recalled a few times where Spartan had refused to slow his gallop - he wasn't going terribly fast or anything - and usually, if she used half-halts he responded soon enough. You had to give him the benefit of the doubt though - he was a Thoroughbred and had been bred to run.
Amy listened politely as Ben explained his and Jinx's reining experience. She nodded and smiled, interested in the sport yet Amy knew she probably would never do reining - it might be fun to watch it sometime though, she thought. Listening, Amy realized that her experience with eventing was similar. She had been doing it since before she got Spartan, and he was really pretty good at it, but they haven't showed much - just a few novice events. But still, Amy remembered, most eventing horses didn't reach their prime until they were a bit older than Spartan - eventer's careers were longer than racers. Spartan's was just only starting.
Amy was silent as Ben springed into his saddle and urged the palomino mare forward. As Jinx stepped away, Spartan lifted his head as if he were frightened he would lose his companion - horses were herd animals and were always more comfortable in a group. The girl nodded though, smiling at the invitation. She knew Spartan wasn't ready to head back to the stable yet and she wanted to work off some more of his energy. "Yeah, sure," she replied, picking her irons back up with her feet while speaking. Spartan swished his tail and stepped forward eagerly as Amy adjusted her grip on the reins, his ears pointed and the stallion was ready to move in the direction his rider pointed him. Amy patted his shoulder, keeping him a respectable distance away from Jinx since she knew some horses didn't like to be crowded while riding. Once again Amy found herself unsure of what to say next, so she tucked another strand of brown hair behind her hair while she waited to see if Ben would offer up another comment.

Ben grinned from Jinx's strong bare back. Spartan was a little more than a hand taller than Jinx, but Ben was also a good deal taller than Amy. They worked out to be at roughly the same level. The palomino was clearly feeling rested after the fifteen minute break, and broke into a nice even jog. Lucky for Ben she was a comfortable mover. Guys will not hop on just any horse with no saddle, don't you know.
He let her go, holding the split reins in one hand, the other running quickly through his hair. "I didn't even know there was a hotel here." He frowned. Must be a B&B or something further out of town, or maybe he was just blind. "Lucky you though," he grinned. "I spent my first week sleeping in my car." Benny glanced off to his left at the lake, sparkling cold in the May sunlight. The path he was pointing Jinx down appeared to curve the whole way around the lake. It looked like it would be a good long walk but on horseback it might take just a half hour, if they kept a quick pace. That would probably be enough for Jinx. After all, there was the right back to consider. He'd take the short route this time though.
Then he looked at Amy again, making sure he'd remember her face. She was pretty, in the rather quiet and plain way. The kind of pretty that doesn't go flashing it about, that would rather be alone than in a big crowd. That was the impression he was getting, in any case. From where he was standing he couldn't see any makeup on her face, and she was dressed for comfort. Ben was rather look concscious himself. His clothes were comfy, yeah, but he made sure they looked damn good on him. He cared about his looks, let's say.
Introverts however, didn't really need to dress to impress. Benny was going on a little mental tangent, one hand on his thigh, the other on the reins. Very suddenly, there was a loud crashing just feet ahead. A tawny blur leapt from the undergrowth on one side of the path, snorting harshly in alarm and dashing into the thin forest on the other side of the path, white tail flashing behind it. Ben registered it as a deer immediately, but that didn't help him keep Jinx from startling. She stopped dead at its appearance, hooves clattering on the rough path, head flung high. She spun halfway around, ready to make a run for it, but Ben had quickly steadied her. One hand on her neck, he squeezed her forward with his legs, forcing her to walk. Walk like nothing had happened. He tended not to make a big deal of spooks like that, or it would only upset the horses more.
"Easy, Jinx." He murmured, but that was the extent of the comfort he offered. Babying her about something harmless would only convince her it was something to have been frightened of. Looking up, he glanced back to see how Amy and Spartan had fared.

Spartan instantly moved quicker as he noticed the mare beside him breaking into a jog. Almost immediately, Amy checked him softly with a small half-halt, making sure the Thoroughbred didn't pass Jinx and Ben up. Thankfully, he seemed to have worked out most of his high energy and was happy to listen by softening his mouth and arching his neck as he slowed his gait. Once again, Amy sat his trot instead of posting, after all this is a relaxing ride, not a training session. The girl could tell her horse was relaxed - his muscles were loose and his ears were flicked back to her, instead of flickering every which way. A nice grin stretched on Amy's face, however small it was, and it was clear she was enjoying herself.
Ben was talking again, and Amy tilted her head to look at him while he spoke. She noticed that even though Spartan was taller than Jinx, Ben's height made them almost eye level with each other. How tiny Amy must look - a by-stander might even dare to think that the two were on the wrong horses. Amy could only imagine how small towering Spartan made her look. However, like always, she inwardly shrugged this thought off. It didn't matter if people thought she was too small to ride the stallion, they were a great team. Anyway, back to what Ben was saying. Amy couldn't help but laugh softly at the comment about the car. One could say she and her brother were lucky to find a hotel, but really it was just one of those small motels that was actually pretty crappy. She would be much happier when they found a more permanent place to live.
Amy probably wasn't paying much attention as she should when the deer suddenly appeared in front of them. Of course, the horses would think it was some scary killer deer or something and that flight-or-fight instinct kicked in. Amy knew that horses usually choose flight, and Spartan didn't disappoint. The ebony colored horse jumped forward, obviously trying to bolt - something he rarely did, I might add. Luckily Amy had great reflexes, or maybe it was just luck, but she quickly pulled her right rein before the horse could get the bit in his teeth. Like a charm, Spartan turned in a tight circle, going around a couple times before Amy was sure the deer was gone and that Spartan had calmed down enough to not run off with her.
"Good boy," Amy whispered under her breath, rubbing the stallion's neck before falling into step with Jinx and Ben again. She had missed the palomino's reaction, but from what she saw, Ben didn't seem to be having much trouble with his mare. Spartan had his head raised and his ears were cubbed forward, as if an guard from another surprise attack, but Amy kept her hands soft as they kept going. Looking back at Ben, she gave him a small grin. "Well, that was exciting." She reached up to pull her baseball cap further down her head to shield her eyes from the sun's glare. Slowly, Spartan began to calm down again as they continued to walk along the path and Amy could feel him relaxing again, though she hoped they didn't encounter anymore of those "scary" deer.

Ben kept one hand on the mare's smooth golden neck to keep her calm, watching Amy deal with the large stallion. He took a while longer than Jinx to realise there was nothing to be afraid of, and at one point, he tucked his haunches under him, head raised, and looked like he was about to bolt. Amy quickly got him under control though, and Benny allowed himself to relax, keeping his mare moving forward. "Well, that was exciting." Benny flashed her a broad grin.
In truth he was kind of surprised Jinx had reacted at all. Normally a deer wasn't worth her attention. Must be that she was in a new place and wasn't entirely comfortable with it. He kept the little mare moving along at a strong jog, her pale creamy mane floating gently with the motions, her neck arched. Her training was coming along awfully well, if he said so himself. She certainly looked amazing when she moved, but that just came naturally for her. They rounded a Ben in the trail, which had become soggier. The land here was lower, stretching into a meadow behind the lake. In fact it was a tad marshy. The path was rather soggy and Jinx's hooves made loud, squealching sucks as she moved through the mud. Benny slowed her to a walk. "Don't wanna suck off a shoe." Jinx herself wasn't wearing any, but Ben hadn't checked Spartan to see, and he didn't want to be rude and continue on trotting if there was a risk of her horse pulling a shoe.
Just when Ben thought the path might just turn into a swampy little mire that might be risk to cross, they were saved. A small bridge, ramping upwards into a boardwalk appeared in the reeds. It would only be wide enough for one at a time but the wood was fresh and strong and would carry them over the difficult ground. "Finally!" Ben sighed. "I was worried we'd have to turn around. Does Spartan do bridges?" He asked as he halted Jinx. If he didn't, he'd get Jinx to go first, but hey, maybe he was a little fussy about being in the back. Some horses were rather dominant and made a big deal whenever they were made to walk at the back of a line. Jinx herself didn't particularly care where she was or what she was doing, as long as food was involved or eventually would be.
"If he doesn't, ladies first." The aussie gestured politely..
{ooc: I'm hoping something goes wrong like a horse falls though the bridge or railings or something of the sort that gives a lot ot reply to. =)}
